Why This Music Exists
My music, created under the names Lane Alan Dumser and Dixon Springs, is made by blending human life, human writing, and AI-assisted production to create something honest, meaningful, and new. It was not created for fame, money, or applause, though those blessings would be welcomed with gratitude and great humility.
This music exists to tell real stories from a real life — lessons learned, the triumphs and failures, the struggles and challenges — so that someone else might hear my story, recognize pieces of their own road inside it, and realize that many of us have carried similar burdens along the way.
I have lost far too many people I loved to suicide and depression over the years. This music is for them. It is also for the ones still walking through dark places, trying to hold on, hoping somebody somewhere understands, and needing to know they can make it through this hard season and live to see better days ahead.
If only one person hears these songs and feels less alone, then this venture will have been a success.
“If you are struggling, please know this: your life matters, your story is not over, and you do not have to carry the weight alone. In the United States, you can call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, or use their online chat at 988lifeline.org/chat.”
With gratitude, hope, and love,
Lane Alan Dumser
